They rise and wander the ocean floor, not for a midnight snack, but for answers .. What happened? And who did this to them, is still a mystery. One that only time will tell ..
- What is Moon Eyed Mermaids?
The Moon Eyed Mermaids is a NFT collection of 666 unique zombie mermaids. This collection will be available exclusively on Ultras Uniq Marketplace. The collection is composed of 4 different rarity categories based on full moons, but .. more on that in a bit 😉.
Collection Overview
- Character
Each mermaid is a unique combination of hand drawn layers or “trait categories”. There are a total of 11 different trait categories (Hair, Eyes, skin color …etc) and a gazillion traits! Some traits are rarer than others. All mermaids are f%kin amazing though, but some are cooler than others 😉
Depending on which particular trait combination the mermaid has, this will assign it to a specific Rarity category.
- Rarity categories
As you might have guessed by now, the Moon is quite a big thing here. Especially the full moon. It is the force that brings the mermaids back from the dead! Each rarity category represents a full moon. Going from most frequent to most rare.
Wen moon? .. Well, depends on which moon you are talking about. All rarity categories revolve around specific full moon events.
Full Moon: With a full moon happening once every month, this category will be the most common, with a total quantity of 360.
Super Moon: Super moons happen when a full moon is closest to the earth and appears up to 7% bigger than an average full moon. This happens up to 4 times in a year! This spectacular moon brings to life 230 haunted mermaids.
Blood Moon: Perhaps the spookiest on the list, is the Blood Moon. This rare lunar event is actually a Lunar Eclipse. It’s when a full moon receives the shadow of our planet cast upon it. Spoiler alert, the red color is not blood .. it’s the sunlight glare passing through our atmosphere giving it a red tone. This happens 3 times a year, and when it does, only 66 incredibly spooky mermaids arise from the grave!
Blue Moon: Ever heard the saying “Once in a blue moon”? It means something that happens very rarely. Well, a blue moon happens every 3 years aprox and is the name of our rarest category! Only 10 will be available for minting. These will appear in a “Unrevealed” version, so you will have to hold onto it and see what it turns into!
The rarer the category, the rarer the traits that this mermaid will have! and also, greater the perks and Utility!
Interesting Fact: On 31/01/2018 there was a Super Blue Blood Moon, a combination of all of the above, something that happens every 256 years!

Moon Eyed Mermaids is more than just a PFP NFT collection. Our vision was to create a brand and an experience while generating awareness for sea turtle conservation, and also granting cool perks for holders, all while following a spooky and fun themed narrative.
Why sea turtles you may ask? … well more on that in a bit .. first, let’s get to the good stuff!
Full Moon:

— Every holder of a Full Moon rarity NFT enters automatically in Moon Eyed Mermaids community raffles. These community raffles will be anonymous $UOS raffles, NFT raffles, merch raffles, and more cool stuff! Each Full Moon NFT that you hold is equivalent to 1 raffle entry.
— For every Full Moon that you hold you will be airdropped a Moon ticket. What is a Moon ticket? Well .. lets just say you want to hold on to this one 😉
Super Moon:
— A % of each Super Moon NFT minted will be donated to Seeturtles.org in collaboration with @SaveHatchlings to help save sea turtle hatchlings. For every Super Moon minted, you will be helping save 42.5 hatchlings!
— Every holder of a Super Moon rarity NFT enters automatically in Moon Eyed Mermaids community raffles. Each Super Moon NFT that you hold is equivalent to 2 raffle entries.
— For every Super Moon that you hold you will be airdropped a Moon ticket.
— Up for some treasure hunts? Well, you are going to need a Map! Every Super Moon, Blood Moon and Blue Moon NFT you hold will give you a Treasure Map! (1 Map airdropped for every NFT)
Blood Moon:

— Every holder of a Blood Moon rarity NFT enters automatically in Moon Eyed Mermaids community raffles. Each Blood Moon NFT that you hold is equivalent to 3 raffle entries.

Before in this article we mentioned Moon Eyed Mermaids more as a brand and an experience than just a NFT collection. Here is why:
- Merch
Moon Eyed Mermaids is going to be creating some serious swag along the way. Holding the project logo as a strong brand identity on different cool clothing and merchandise ideas.
For now, to get access to merch you can participate in the community raffles as a holder. Later down the line we will open more options to everyone. Also possibly opening a charity M.E.M clothing line with direct % donated. But, let’s go step by step.
- Comic
Not only will our creepy beloved mermaid be present in her traditional aquarelle style drawing, but also as a comic character! You may see more of this version on our twitter feed and in other places :)
Ok, how can I get one?
- You can mint first hand on one of our 2 drop dates (08.11.22 & 22.11.22). The collection is dropping on Ultra’s Uniq Marketplace . To enter you need to first download the Ultra client, after that you need to create an Ultra account. Once you have done that you are good to go, you just need to be at the Launchpad section of the Uniq Marketplace at the correct time.
At the moment of minting you can purchase directly with Credit Card or with $UOS. If you are picking the second option, which might be faster, we recommend topping up the wallet with $UOS beforehand.
- If by any chance you were not quick enough to mint on the launchpad, you can always try to snag one on the secondary market! Head to “Marketplace” inside the Ultra client, and you are set. GLHF :)
